Milongas

 A Milonga or 'Salon' is the tango social dance - be it a night club or an afternoon dance. The Society organises a milonga every Tuesday night and every week on a Sunday afternoon. Occasional salons are held on Saturday Nights, including the Summer and Winter Balls.

 

Tango in NBs: Sundays

Sunday afternoon dance at the Balmoral Hotel bar - NBs, corner of Princes St and North Bridge. 5-9pm, every week. Free class at 5:30.

Baracoa is a casual event, but for the evening milongas, we try to dress elegantly (smart or sexy...)

Tango in the Counting House: Tuesdays

Tuesday evening dance after the Practica from 7-11pm in the Counting House, West Nicolson St (upstairs from Blind Poet pub) Occasional special events.

Salon 'La Salida'

Saturday, generally end of each month.. It is held in Dance for All Studios, St Stephen's St and elsewhere. [MAP]

This is an informal party for members of the tango society and friends to welcome new dancers. Includes a dance, and often games and a show. Dance the night away until 3am.
