Edinburgh Tango Society
Tango, the sophisticated and sensual dance from Argentina, is increasing in popularity in Scotland and Edinburgh. Argentine tango is the ultimate, intimate partner dance. It is not the ballroom tango of 'Come Dancing', but an improvised social dance with a rich musical heritage. The Edinburgh Tango Society promotes tango events in Edinburgh and surrounding cities, and organises workshops, practices and dances. Anyone can take the classes whether they have danced before or not. Tango is a challenging and intensely satisfying dance and music, but most importantly it is a social activity. The ETS is a great place to make friends and become part of the international tango community. For those from elsewhere in Scotland, there are now groups organising regular practices and classes in Glasgow, Aberdeen and the Borders.

11th Edinburgh International Tango Festival
The UK's longest continually running tango festival enters its second decade. As always we have a fantastic lineup, with two visiting couples and two bands with balls on both Saturday and Sunday night. This years's couples are the outstanding Pablo Rodriguez & Corina Herrera and Bruno Tombari & Rocío Lequio. We have over 15 workshops for all levels.
Tango Spleen and Sexteto Fantasma will play lovely music for you at our balls, complemented by our lineup of top international DJs. As well as the balls in historic Greyfriars Kirk, there is another evening milonga and afternoon tango cafes to dance or relax.
