Jenny Frances and Ricardo Oria
Jenny and Ricardo are Edinburgh's resident professional tango teachers. They have been teaching and dancing together for 4 years, running regular classes in Edinburgh and Glasgow. They frequently teaching workshops and performing in other cities such as Leeds, Leicester, London and Norwich. They also teach and perform in Europe, including Sweden, Spain and Ireland.
Ricado Oria was invited to come to teach tango in Edinburgh by the ETS and Dancebase in 2001. In Buenos Aires he was teaching, dancing in shows and giving exhibitions in many locations with partners including Alicia Sampayo, Dalila Yentel, Ivanna Mileo, Silvia Cespedes, Florencia Martinez and Biljana Lipic. His tango studies have been with Gloria y Rodolfo Dinzel in the University of Tango, BsAs Valencia Vatiuk, Angel Coria, Estela Arcos, Eduardo Capussi y Mariana Flores, Rodolfo Dinzel, Vanina y Roberto, Juan Carlos Copes, Jorge y Liliana Rodriguez, Javier Rodriguez y Geraldin Rojas and Daniel Vera. Since arriving in Europe he has performed and taught in London, other British cities, and in Madrid. He also featured in the BBC 1 Ident screened regularly during 2003 In his teaching he emphasises improvisation, and a close dance style. He started teaching and performing with Jenny in 2002.
Jenny Frances started dancing tango in Edinburgh with the ETS, and since 2002 she has been teaching and performing with Ricardo in Edinburgh and in cities around the UK and abroad.
In 2003 Jenny and Ricardo performed in the contemporary dance tango show "THE TANGO SPELL" with the Pasodos dance company during the Edinburgh Fringe. They continue to perform in this show in a number of European locations.
