Weekend Tango Workshops

Workshop with Carlos Esquena

We welcome Carlos Esquena to give his first classes in Edinburgh this weekend. The theme of both the Improvers and the Intermediate/Advanced Classes will be The Structure of the Tango, incorporating the elements of communication and musicality for leaders and followers. Carlos is a dancer, teacher and musician, who has visited Glasgow to perform and teach with Sandro Nunziata and Ruth di Vicenzo in recent years. There has been excellent feedback from his classes in Glasgow, Newcastle and Stirling.

Carlos Esquena

Carlos is a musician (guitar), dancer and teacher of tango from Argentina. He has an accessible and down-to-earth teaching style, which focuses on musicality, elegance and harmony on the dance floor. In teaching his aim is to enrich his students dancing and to enable a greater freedom of expression betweenpartners. Carlos had extensive dance and choreography training with Gustavo Naveira, Chicho Frumboli, Julio Balmeceda, Carlos Dinzel, Carlos Borquez and Norberto Esbrez; and he taught in Argentina, Bolivia, Japan, Spain, France and UK. He has toured Scotland, teaching in Stirling, Inverness, Grantown, Beauly, Aberdeen and Glasgow.
